Domina   2007 Domina
QbA (100%) (Red) [Dry]


The Domina (grape variety) is a Franken Specialty! The varietal’s breeding was accomplished by Peter Morio in 1927 from Blue Portugieser and Pinot Noir grapes. There are virtually no Domina vines grown outside of the Franken wine region of Germany.

Tasting Notes: Intense, ruby-red color; Aromas start with cherries and vanilla; tastes of forest fruits (like wild blueberries and red currants); expanding with lovely herbal impressions; Full-bodied, but mild with pleasurable tannins ~ Incredible balance!

Food Pairings: Salads with heavier, spicier dressings; Robust soups & chowders; Mild & medium-flavored cheeses, such as cheddar, jack, Brie, Chevre, Roquefort; Pizza & pasta with tomato-based sauces; Heavier/meatier sandwiches; Roasted meat dishes with brown sauces – mildly spicy; Teriyaki steak; Venison; Salmon, Halibut, Lobster bisque, Scallops in a mushroom-cream sauce; Chocolate.

A special, exciting blend of white and red grapes which have been crushed together, with just enough sparkle added to make it memorable!

Tasting Notes: Sparkling strawberries & raspberries; fruity; fresh.

Food Pairings: Light Appetizers, fish & shellfish, creamy vegetable soups, creamy desserts, and chocolate-anything.

Tasting Notes: Full bouquet of exotic fruit on the nose and the pallet: peaches, black currants, kiwi, mangoes – and fragrances of roses; liqueur-like with a fresh finish.

Food Pairings: Vigorous acidity; pairs very well with highly-flavored dishes such as aromatic poultry and fish dishes, gumbos, stews, Asian cuisine, and fruit desserts.

Tasting Notes: An easy relaxing taste that hints of peaches and pears; it also has rather discrete aromas reminiscent to nuts and dried fruits; a full-bodied white wine with pleasant, recognizable tartness.

Food Pairings: Appetizers, Salads, chicken, shellfish, Fish, and All Pastas.
   
  2007 Pinot Noir
QbA (96% Pinot Noir / 2% Cabernet Dorsa) (Red) [dry]


Tasting Notes: A medium, fruity red wine, reminiscent of red berries like blackberries with aromas of almonds and chocolate.  The taste has a concise character with noticeable tannin.

Food Pairings: Spicy cheeses and appetizers; Italian cuisine; Ham and Veal dishes; Wild game; Grilled and roasted meats.

   
  2008 Bacchus
QbA (100%) (White) [Half-dry]


This hybrid grape variety was developed in 1933 by the crossing of the Silvaner/Riesling hybrid with Müller-Thurgau. Grown in Franconia since 1962.

Tasting Notes: Exotically fruity aroma (oranges, kiwi, apricot…); lovely fruity balance on the mouth with a very long, smooth finish.

Food Pairings
: Creamy cheeses and crackers; Pasta with cream sauces; Sweet/sour dishes with aromatic rice or other grains; Spicy seafood dishes; Far Eastern cuisine; tangy desserts.

The Müller-Thurgau was a hybrid developed by Hermann Mueller in 1882 from the grape varieties of Riesling and Silvaner.

Tasting Notes: A light, rounded wine with a fruity-flowery bouquet and a pleasant touch of muscatel. The aroma is fruity and spicy like green apples, bananas, and nutmeg. The taste of Müller-Thurgau is pleasantly mild with slight tanginess and well-balanced acidity.

Food Pairings: Popular for an evening's drinking at everyday dinners -- Light meat dishes and vegetables; pasta; light sandwiches; and creamy desserts.

Tasting Notes: A medium/half-dry wine, salmon to raspberry in color; very fruity aromas of raspberries, strawberries, and mayhaws ; fruity in taste.

Food Pairings: It’s the perfect terrace/ patio wine that everyone likes! It is suitable to match with all appetizers, grilled light meats & vegetables, poultry, seafood, and all styles of get-togethers, parties, and celebrations – or just for sharing any evening with friends & family.
